Playoff Results and How Each Team Qualified

Bengaluru’s first title came after 17 seasons of near misses, and the knockouts showed why this side was different. In Qualifier 1 their bowlers bowled Punjab out for 101 in 14.1 overs, with leg-spinner Suyash Sharma named player of the match, and the chase took only ten overs. Punjab regrouped: Mumbai had beaten Gujarat in a high-scoring Eliminator behind Rohit Sharma, but Shreyas Iyer’s unbeaten 87 chased down 204 in Qualifier 2 to take Punjab to their first final since 2014. The final in Ahmedabad was the tightest of the three playoff weeks. Bengaluru made 190/9 without a single fifty, Krunal Pandya’s four tidy overs held Punjab back in the middle, and Bengaluru defended the total by six runs. Virat Kohli, who had played for the franchise in every one of its seasons, finally lifted the trophy.
