Rishabh Pant IPL Stats: Career Overview and Headline Numbers
Rishabh Pant broke through at Delhi in 2016 and became one of the most exciting wicketkeeper-batters in the league, leading Delhi as captain. After recovering from a serious car accident that ruled him out of IPL 2023, he returned in 2024 and then moved to Lucknow Super Giants as captain in 2025.
Career Story
Pant arrived at Delhi in 2016 as a teenager, picked at the auction shortly after a big Under-19 World Cup, and within two seasons he was the most dangerous batter in their side. His 2018 season produced 684 runs at a strike rate of 173.60, including an unbeaten 128 against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
He was appointed Delhi captain in 2021 when Shreyas Iyer was injured and kept the job, leading Delhi to the top of the league table that season. His own batting became more measured as captain, with his strike rate dropping to 113.95 in 2020 and 128.53 in 2021, before he rediscovered his attacking game in 2022.
A car accident in December 2022 ruled him out of the whole of IPL 2023. His return in 2024 was one of the stories of the season: 446 runs at a strike rate of 155.40, keeping wicket and captaining again. Lucknow Super Giants then made him the most expensive player in IPL history at the auction for 2025. His first season there was difficult until his final league match, when he scored an unbeaten 118 against Bengaluru, his second IPL hundred.
Rishabh Pant has played 139 IPL matches across 10 seasons. With the bat he has 3865 runs from 136 innings, which ranks him 23rd on the all-time run-scoring list. He has been dismissed 115 times, giving an average of 33.61, and he scores at 146.79 runs per 100 balls, with 349 fours and 181 sixes.
